MAC Pro Longwear Concealer | REVIEW

The shade that I have is NW25  which is too dark for me since I am pretty fair. The girl in the store matched me up and she was supposed to give me the shade that is exactly the same as my skin tone, but I guess she  messed up and I ended up with this.

Shades
There are 16 shades in total and two "lines" available. NW line is for cool and NC for warm undertones. This can be a bit confusing because you would think that NW which is neutral warm is supposed to be used on warm (yellow) undertones and NC which stands for neutral cool is supposed to be used with cool (pink) undertones. That is not the case with MAC, they are trying to neutralize the undertones in your skin and that is why they made yellow based concealers for cool skintones and pink based ones for warm. I'm not really up for that, I would much rather just stick to my real undertone as I think it looks much more natural.

Packaging
It comes in a glass bottle with a plastic pump and lid. The bottle is pretty durable and heavy, and it feels like a really good quality. The only downside to the packaging in general is the pump. It pumps out too much product which is what a lot of people complain about, so I know it's not just a factory mistake with mine. I just like to be extra careful when I'm using it because I don't want to waste product. You get 9 ml or 0.30 fl oz which is a pretty good amount of product.

Consistency
The concealer is very thick and creamy. I had absolutely no problems with blending, it goes on very smoothly. I use my fingers for blending and application, but you could also use a brush if you wanted to. I suggest a synthetic one, because natural hair brushes have the tendency to soak up liquid products which is an unnecessary waste.

I find it very longwearing even if it's not set with powder. It dries matte so you can get away with wearing it on it's own. I usually don't find any creasing, except when I apply too much product and that is when is starts settling into fine lines under my eyes. That happens when the application is overdone and it creases shortly after it's applied. I just blend it with my fingers a bit more and it's fine. If I want to be extra secure, I use a powder on top of it just so it doesn't move, especially now that it's summer. If you have oily skin, never skip on powder !

Ingredients
If you're one of those people to check the ingredients and then consider buying a product, you will be very happy because this bad boy is oil, talc and paraben free.

Coverage
This concealer is famous for it's high coverage. You only need a small amount of it to cover your dark circles, blemishes or whatever you may want to cover up. The good thing about it is that even though it covers so well, it's not too heavy on the skin.

Removing
I just use my regular makeup remover and remove it as I would any other concealer. This one is a bit more stubborn, but I go over it a few extra times and it is all off.

  1. Absolutely, because I always look at the ingredients of every cosmetic before buy. My skin is oily so the ingredients matters me a lot. I used to buy stuffs from Yofi Cosmetics because they used the chemicals suits to my skin and they are not thick as well.

I haven't heard of Yofi Cosmetics before, do they have an online store? I'd like to try some new stuff, especially concealers even though I love this one a lot
